Designed for learners who currently hold an SIA door supervisor licence, the refresher brings you up to date with the latest requirements across search procedures, safeguarding vulnerable people, terror threat awareness, spiking prevention and physical intervention.
The qualification is made up of two mandatory units, both assessed through knowledge tests and observed practical demonstrations. Select Course only, or Course + EFAW if you need to complete your first aid requirement, individually or as a group booking.
Complete both mandatory units in person, over a minimum of 1.5 to 3 days depending on self-study arrangements.

Unit 1 knowledge test: 35-question multiple-choice exam (55 minutes), pass mark 71%; Unit 1 practical: observed demonstration of searching and use of communications devices, pass mark 100%. Unit 2 knowledge test: 30-question multiple-choice exam (45 minutes), pass mark 80%; Unit 2 practical: observed demonstration of every physical intervention technique plus a Q&A session, pass mark 100%. All practical assessments are visually recorded, as required by the SIA.
Delivered in person at a Nevara Training centre or on-site for corporate/group bookings. The physical intervention unit requires hands-on, visually recorded practical assessment and cannot be delivered remotely. Training runs over a minimum of 1.5 days (11 hours 15 minutes) where supported self-study is used, or 3 days (21 hours) where it is not, with no training day exceeding 8 hours. Suitable for delivery in England, Wales and Northern Ireland.
