The Level 2 Certificate in Spectator Safety (RQF) is the industry recognised qualification for stewards working at sports grounds, arenas, festivals, concerts, and other public events. It confirms occupational competence and equips learners with the knowledge and skills needed to keep spectators safe.

Entry Requirements

  • Minimum age of 18 for certification
  • Sufficient English or Welsh language skills (CEFR B2 / Functional Skills Level 1)
  • Physically capable of performing required tasks
  • Valid photographic identification required
  • Completion of ACT Awareness training prior to certification
  • Valid First Aid qualification required before certification (can be included as a package)

Assessment Method

Mandatory units are assessed through a portfolio of evidence, including workplace observations, professional discussions, witness testimonies, work products and reflective accounts. The optional Physical Intervention unit is assessed through a multiple-choice examination and practical demonstration.

Delivery Format

Delivered at the learner’s workplace or venue, with evidence gathered in real working environments. Optional Physical Intervention training requires a suitable training space.
