The Level 2 Award for Door Supervisors in the Private Security Industry is the legally required qualification for anyone wishing to apply for an SIA Door Supervisor Licence.

This comprehensive programme covers the essential knowledge and practical skills needed to work safely and effectively in the private security industry. All units — including theory content, conflict management, and physical intervention — are delivered fully in person over 6 days, including Physical Intervention (PI) and examinations.

The course includes conflict management, physical intervention, licensing law, search procedures, drug awareness, emergency procedures, and the responsibilities of a professional door supervisor. Emergency First Aid is a prerequisite for completing this course. If you do not already hold the certification, it can be booked separately or as part of a package.

Entry Requirements

  • Must be aged 18 or over
  • Legal right to work in the UK
  • Valid Emergency First Aid or First Aid at Work certificate with at least 12 months remaining
  • Students without a valid First Aid certificate can purchase it as part of a bundle at booking
  • English language ability equivalent to Level 1 (CEFR B2)
  • Physically capable of completing practical elements
  • Valid photographic identification (passport or driving licence)

Assessment Method

Assessment consists of multiple-choice examinations and practical demonstrations, including searching procedures, conflict management scenarios and physical intervention techniques. All assessments are completed in person during the course.
